Yep, I got a new phone! I've made the move from Android and the dire HTC Hero, to a nice, cute little Blackberry Curve, specifically the 8520!
So, first impressions of the Curve? It's such a nice phone to use, the speed is just right, and the camera, for 2 MegaPixels, is bloody good quality! The phone is running Blackberry OS 5, after spending a hour updating it from BB OS 4, I'm glad I did, because the experience is enhanced in such a huge way. So, it all comes down to 1 thing now, moving from an Android phone, and previously using an iPod Touch, the major decision of mine was all down Applications.
Blackberry App World might not be known for being big, or being popular, but I am quite shocked at how good some of the applications are. I currently only use a select few, those mainly being the official Twitter, Flickr & Facebook apps, also using Windows Live Messenger and ofcourse Blackberry Messenger. The screen is just perfect for the apps, it's not too big, yet at the same time not too small.
So, now onto ow much it cost. I paid a very reasonable £140 for it, thanks to the very kind lady at the Carphone warehouse store for sorting me out a deal, and trading in my old phone to take a huge £80 off the price, meaning I only paid £60 towards it to get the phone. I also purchased 4 cases, 3 being Blackberry made silicon cases, and 1 Case-Mate silver case, they do the job well, but I've not taken off the black case, yet.
My first impressions of the device? I'm happy with it, it does the job perfectly and has a good app base if I wish to extend its abilities.
