Nottingham Goose Fair

On 9th October 2010, I attended the 716th Nottingham Goose Fair, held at the Forest Recreational Ground, and what a night it was.

First off, I thought the layout of the fair was spectacular, the tall rides you'd notice were spread out evenly, with Booster's either side of the fair, the UFO tucked at the back offering a great light show, and 2Xtreme & the Observation Wheel right in the centre offering height and great views. The smaller rides were dotted about, sometimes all bundled together or spread out, but it was hard to find duplicates near each other, even though it was good seeing Rock Rage, a KMG Inversion, standing just 1 ride down from Kick Down, a KMG Freak Out, of which Rock Rage is based off. On the note of Duplicates, there were many dotted around, there were a shocking 8 Dodgems tracks, but to give them their do, they were spread out very evenly, and all getting some great attention.

My main intention for going to the Goose Fair was to experience the atmosphere, and my god it was electric. The music was so varied it was hard to choose what suited which ride, I heard 60's music and ofcourse the hard hitting Dance/Hardcore we've become used to. I took a huge amount of photos at the fair, including some video which is a good change, and those can be seen on my Flickr account, and on my YouTube account.

The photo at the start of this post is of one of the Twist's which attended, that one's called Sizzler. I believe it's owned by the Holland Family, regardless the neon's on the ride made it look fantastic, and as you can see from the photo, it gave great opportunities for long-exposure shots.
